Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson

As so many other performing arts organizations are having to do, we have postponed our production of Stage Kiss by Sarah Ruhl, scheduled for May 1 - 9 at the Derry Opera House.

In this time of unprecedented trial, please take care of yourself, your loved ones, and your community. And if you have the means, please consider supporting artists and arts venues in Southern New Hampshire. So many of them will struggle to recover from the next two months well beyond this time frame.

Best wishes to everyone as we move into these uncharted waters.

It's basically about the phenomenon of actors kissing on stage...I've always thought it so odd that this is people's job, that they have to come to work and kiss each other in front of other people, and I wanted to investigate that. ~ Sarah Ruhl

When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality in this romantic and revealing play. Stage Kiss is a charming tale about what happens when lovers share a stage kiss—or when actors share a real one.  Sarah Ruhl brings us a play within a play that blurs the lines of two actors’ work on stage with the reality of their off stage romantic past.
